Straight Teeth Treatment for Teens and Adults using Invisalign in Phoenix

Did you know that in order to get the straight smile you’ve always wanted, there’s no need to go to an orthodontist in Phoenix? The skilled professionals of Central Valley Dentistry can provide you with quality, in-office orthodontic treatment without referring you offsite, thanks to Invisalign.

About Invisalign in Phoenix

Invisalign is a type of orthodontic treatment that straightens your teeth without using the traditional wire and bracket strategy. Invisalign consists of a series of clear plastic aligners (trays) that fit snuggly over your teeth, slowly moving them over time.

At the start of your orthodontic therapy, all of your aligners will be made in advance. The shape of each pair of trays varies slightly from one to the next, showing the progression that the teeth will take.

Invisalign clear aligners should be worn at all times, except to eat and to clean your teeth. Essentially, you’ll want to wear them for a minimum of 22 hours per day.

Each set of aligners is meant to be worn for about two weeks before moving on to the next pair.

When compared to traditional braces, Invisalign has two main advantages:

  • They’re nearly invisible, which is really helpful for people that feel hesitant about wearing fixed appliances other people will see.
  • Invisalign can be removed – unlike braces – to clean your teeth. This means that your chances of developing cavities or decalcification from improper cleaning are significantly reduced. (Plus no dietary restrictions!)
  • Invisalign Treatment Time

The length of treatment for Invisalign is said to be much faster (almost half the time) of traditional metal braces. Obviously, the number of months you’ll be in treatment will be based on your individual needs and likely differ from the next person. On average, Invisalign treatments take about twelve months. Some lucky patients that only need minor movements for their front teeth can be done in as early as 12 weeks.

Before deciding on Invisalign and knowing your individual treatment timeframe, we’ll need to personally evaluate your individual smile.

    Getting Invisalign

If you’re interested in getting Invisalign, the first step is to have photos taken of your teeth, along with a 3-D intraoral scan of your mouth. With your digital model, Dr. Behbahani will consult with an Invisalign specialist and design your treatment plan.

Once this is complete, we’ll be able to show you a simulation of what your new smile will look like, and tell you how long your treatment is likely to take.

Who is a Candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign is available to both teenagers and adults. While most teenagers gladly comply with the 22-hour rule, many teens don’t make it a priority. The Invisalign Teen line is available, which was made specifically to track compliance. Invisalign teen aligners come with a built-in tracker that changes color as they’re worn. Once you can see that a specific pair of trays has been worn long enough, you can move on to the next set.
