Dentures Phoenix, AZ

Dentures, also known as “false teeth,” is a device designed to take the place of missing teeth. They are supported by the hard and soft palate (tissues of the oral cavity) and provide a presentable alternative smile.

When fitting this device, we begin by taking measurements and then a prosthodontist (reconstruction specialist) designs the mold with help from a dental laboratory.

Dentures can be removable, a partial type, or complete. There are two main groups of dentures: complete or full dentures and partials. Complete or full dentures replace all of your natural teeth in either your upper or lower jaw. Partials are used to replace some of your teeth in either your upper or lower jaw.

There are a number of different types of dentures, including light alloy, flexible and plastic; you can discuss the different types of denture with us, as some types may be more suitable for your individual needs than others. Immediate dentures are used to replace the teeth immediately after they have been lost or extracted; they are replaced once the permanent set has been manufactured and the gum tissue has healed.

Technology has come a long way since dentures were initially designed and used in America. With techniques and materials improving every year, it’s typically difficult to detect a perfect-fitting set of dentures. This is why technology continues to improve in hopes that one day we can erase all denture discrepancies.

While some patients prefer a bridge or dental implant, they may not qualify for these types of services. There are many reasons that go into determining a qualified candidate and looking into dentures as a reasonable alternative to restore several important functions should be considered.
